Revision of The Final Model

Building Material

Based on my analysis about the site context and the concept, I found that the most suitable material which can represent my concept is wood. Based on the article i read, which is :

"Forests have always had deep-rooted symbolic meaning in virtually every culture on earth. Forests are the abode of the nature spirits. Forests are a refuge from danger as well as a source of dangerous wild animals. Forests are mysterious and constantly changing. Tree symbols and forests contains multiple mythic qualities. The deep-rooted symbolism of trees is apparent in common metaphors such as the tree of life and our ancestral heritage depicted in family trees" (taken from:http://livingartsoriginals.com/infoforests.htm).

I found that wood represent nature and culture of earth. Since Woodford festival aim to introduce the culture of the world and also the teach people about the importance of nature, I decide to use wood as my material.

These pictures show the building using wood material.

Wood Louver

In order to control the sun penetration during the day (especially in summer), I decide to create vertical wood louver which angled to the north east and north west. By doing this, the sunlight penetration to the building can be reduced. Furthermore, the vertical wood louver itself gives an illusion effect that makes the building looks higher. Therefore, the foyer will a grand atmosphere.
